From the Ashes: A Story in Film of America’s Coal Legacy & What’s at Stake for Our Economy, Health, and Climate

Posted June 25, 2017

From the Ashes, produced by RadicalMedia in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies and in close collaboration with Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal team, captures Americans in communities across the country as they wrestle with the legacy of the coal industry and what its future should be under the Trump Administration. From Appalachia to the West’s Powder River Basin, the film goes beyond the rhetoric of the “war on coal” to present compelling and often heartbreaking stories about what’s at stake for our economy, health, and climate.

The Orton Foundation, affiliate of Louis Bacon‘s Moore Charitable Foundation, is proud to have partnered in Beyond Coal’s powerful and far-reaching movement. The film premieres tonight – Sunday June 25th 9/8c on National Geographic, and is also available for a limited time online at the National Geographic Channel.

Tune in – and please spread the word to your friends, allies, and colleagues. A huge congratulations to Sierra Club on their enduring and important work – and watch the trailer here.
