Nassau Land Trust

The mission of the Nassau Land Trust (NLT) is to conserve land and preserve Nassau County’s heritage for future generations. NLT works with landowners and the local communities to enhance and protect open lands, farms, and natural resources.

NLT is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation that accepts donations of land and conservation easements. NLT fulfills its mission through outreach to landowners and facilitating their use of land conservation techniques. NLT provides creative land-use choices that respect the rights of landowners and reflect their individual goals. NLT also educates those involved in land use — such as government officials, planners, accountants, and real estate brokers — on the tools of land conservation.
